TWS Logistics and its sister company Riksdistribution RD AB have opened a new terminal in Arlandastad in the north of Stockholm. “This additional facility enables us to provide the best service levels to our customers,” says Stein Eidsvåg, CEO of TWS Group.
The new temperature-controlled terminal has a total area of 1,300 m2 and complies with GDP standards. It welcomed its first distribution customers on April 6, 2021.
“The opening of this Stockholm-north facility is a part of a growth strategy that TWS Group is realizing,” says Eidsvåg.
Optimizing flows to and from Stockholm
In June of 2020, TWS Group acquired Riksdistribution RD AB, which has its terminal in Nykvarn, south of Stockholm.
“With the new location in Arlandastad, TWS Group gets a good platform to build on in the Stockholm metropolitan area,” says Eidsvåg. “The new terminal also makes it possible to optimize flows to and from the Stockholm metropolitan area, which enables us to provide the best service levels to our customers. We are operating daily line-hauls from the Benelux and southern Sweden to the Stockholm area, and we are also handling a lot of goods that are originating locally, and we now have the locations necessary to operate in the most efficient way.”
